Artist Portfolio
A decade of work across painting, photography, digital art, drawing, and mixed media.
Emma is a Scottish artist, based in Dundee, currently studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, whose practice is rooted in non-human thinking - specifically the behaviour of Physarum polycephalum, a single-cell organism known as "the blob." Like the slime mold, her work grows, expands, falls back, and finds its way again. Through installation, painting, and drawing, she explores dynamic systems of material and movement: willow as skeleton, clay as density, colour as life, darkness as decay. There is no final form, only a temporary state, always capable of reaching further. This page also contains her work before working with the slime mold.
